L’Artusi
228 W 10th St., West Village, NYL’Artusi can officially go on our list of favorite restaurants in this town. A few things stand out as qualifications for such an honor – outstanding and consistent food, great service, good music, and some ancillary entertainment that comes in the form of great people watching.

Lucali
575 Henry St., Brooklyn, NYYes, it can be annoying to deal with an unpredictable situation, but for a pizza this good, we’re willing to deal with it. Lucali is incredible.

A Voce
41 Madison Ave., Gramercy, NYA Voce is definitely Italian fine dining, it will definitely hit you hard in the wallet, and it’s definitely full of suits from the New York Life building next door, but no matter – the food coming out of this kitchen is amazing.

Babbo
110 Waverly Place, Greenwich Village, NYOf all the Batali restaurants, Babbo is the one most aligned with the Infatuation ideals for good eating. If you enjoy consuming as much as we do and aren’t held down by underdeveloped taste buds, allergies or religious beliefs, you’re going to love Torrisi Italian Specialties. By day, Torrisi is the best new sandwich [...]

Maialino
2 Lexington Ave., Gramercy, NYAbout a year and a half ago, we wrote up a less than glowing review of Danny Meyer’s then brand new Roman trattoria, Maialino. We had high expectations due to Meyer’s flawless record, but flaws were found, and verdict was levied accordingly. Steinthal actually compared the place to every great band’s worst album. Ouch. But [...]

Scarpetta
355 W. 14th St., Chelsea, NYA fantastic and trendy Italian spot, so far untainted by the Meatpacking District sprawl.

Barbuto
775 Washington St., West Village, NYA trendy spot, but for a more sedate group…not the hair gel and high heels crowd that you find a few blocks north in the meatpacking district. Simple food, top quality ingredients, a good wine and beer list – all the makings of an Immaculate Infatuation mainstay.
