2009 was a big year for Immaculate Infatuation. Since our launch in April, we’ve written almost 150 reviews, consumed a very unhealthy amout of meat, and made it into the New York Times and New York Post. None of that would have been possible without your support, and we love you for that. To close out the year, here is a rundown of some of our favorite things from 2009.
Luke’s Lobster
Yes, we’ve been pretty far up these guys’ asses since they opened in October, but we love a good lobster roll and a great story. Get some in 2010.
Commerce
One of the few restaurants that truly stands out among the many that we reviewed this year. Oh, and the chicken for two is absolutely ridiculous.
Bill’s Bar and Burger
Making the Meat Packing District slightly more bearable one burger at a time.

Passion Pit – Manners
The soundtrack to the early summer and one really cute video. This was in heavy rotation as we got things rolling with Immaculate Infatuation. There is definitely some nostalgia there, but it’s a fantastic album nonetheless.
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes – Up From Below
An amazing album from a bunch of dudes that look like they got fired from a job at Freemans and are now homeless. Start with “Home”.
Miles Fisher – “This Must Be The Place”
One of the best music videos in quite some time, this American Psycho take on our favorite Talking Heads song is straight genius.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Another Wes Andersen masterpiece. If you happen to be at Berdgorf’s blowing your bonus on a pair of shoes, check out the actual set pieces and puppets from the movie in the windows.
Yankees
This Yankees team was special. People can hate all they want and say they bought themselves a ring, but money wasn’t the only reason. Chemistry and character were just as important. Swisher, whenever you want do a guest review for us, we’re ready.
Hank Moody/Californication
Season 3, Episode 4 (“ZOSO”) might have been the greatest half hour in Californication history. Hank gets down with his student, TA, and boss all in the same 24 hours. Too bad the wheels came off shortly thereafter. Here’s to hoping it gets renewed and our sleazy hero gets another season.
Lululemon
Taking bun scopin’ on the streets of NYC to a whole new level, skin tight workout gear has never been so hot. Thank you, Canada.
Gilt Groupe
At 11:59 AM, we’re ready and waiting. Gilt Groupe is pretty much the only place we spend money on gear anymore, especially now that all of our dollars go to food.
