DailyCandy

Apparently, it’s New York Fashion Week again. We only managed to figure that out because the words “fabulous” and “cigarettes” are currently trending on Twitter. Obviously, we are not the guys to turn to when it comes to what hot shows to attend or what parties will be the fiercest this year, but the ladies of DailyCandy most certainly are. You want to have the best NYFW ever? These girls are the key to your success, so be sure to check out the DailyCandy New York website and Twitter daily for news and scoop on whatever exactly goes on during the next seven/twenty days. Why does it seem like Fashion Week lasts a whole month?

We put together a guide to NYFW eating and drinking to share with DailyCandy’s readers, and, in return, we asked our DC friends for their key spots as well. So here we present our first ever Fives by committee, courtesy of the DC editorial staff. Left to right, here’s the roster: Lauren Berger (editor), Jordan Blumberg (NY editor), Lauren Lumsden (editor), Ashley Parrish (editorial director) and Karen Palmer (senior editor). Check out their Infatuation friendly Perfect for Picks below and make sure you’re following DailyCandy on Twitter and Facebook.

DailyCandy’s “Perfect For” Picks

Urban Escape

Habana Outpost (757 Fulton St. # A) – “When I’m not doing Fashion Week stuff, I want to get as far away from it as possible – and not just distance-wise. After the shows, I like to put on elastic-waist pants, drink a cheap beer, and eat a cheese and guac burrito at a picnic table in the corner. Not exactly the model lifestyle, but I’m okay with that.” – Lauren Lumsden

Adventurous Eating

Kin Shop (469 6th Ave.) – “Roti-wrapped bone marrow makes for a bite of pure awesome. Request an extra order of chili jam to spread on your toast the next morning.” – Lauren Berger

Celebrity Sightings

Locanda Verde (377 Greenwich St.) – “My trick: Try to sneak into the Greenwich Hotel’s guests-only drawing room. They serve the full Locanda menu without any wait. If you get rejected, you’re bound to spot at least one famous face during your wait for plates of sheep’s milk ricotta, aptly names Gigantone pasta, and roasted chicken for two. For dessert, the toasted almond semifreddo is a star in its own right.” – Jordan Blumberg

Girls’ Night Out

Edi & The Wolf (102 Avenue C) – “Down endless glasses of Riesling under the top-hat table. Soak it up with spaetzle and schnitzel topped with lingonberries.” – Ashley Parrish

Happy Hour

Ofrenda (113 7th Ave. South Mercer St.) – “Watching the colorful corner of Christopher Street and Seventh Avenue over no-frills cucumber margaritas and Oaxaca cheese quesadillas makes happy hour (4-7 p.m., seven days a week) so much happier.” – Karen Palmer

Bonus

Date Night

Danji (346 W 52nd St.) – “Korean food that goes both ways (traditional and modern). The pork belly sliders with hot pepper paste will have you both drooling for all the right reasons.”

Double Bonus

Chronic Brunch

The Smile (26 Bond St. # 1) – “The epitome of low key, non-Balthazar brunching. If you don’t, make sure someone at your table orders the egg, ham, gruyere, and carmelized onion sandwich.”
