SHAMELESS (Season 2)

Emmy Rossum

The first Friday Fives of 2012 is one we’ve been hustling to get for over two years now. We love us some Emmy Rossum here at The Infatuation. She’s the breakout star of Shameless, one the best shows currently on TV. We can’t get enough of her gritty, trailer-trash-sexy portrayal of Fiona Gallagher, and are honored to have her participate.

Having grown up on the Upper East Side, Emmy is a veteran NYC restaurant-goer. She admits that most of her favorite spots are the antithesis of cool since they’re uptown, however she’s a little hard on herself. As you can see by her picks, she’s definitely got some sassy downtown flavor. Any girl who’s down to pound fancy cocktails at PDT and then eat hot dogs is OK in our book. To keep up with the latest, make sure to follow Emmy on Facebook and Twitter.

Also, if you’re not watching Shameless, you need to fix that immediately. It’s hysterical, has an incredible cast, is sick and f*cked up in the best possible ways, and the new trailer features one of the best songs ever, Spoon’s “The Way We Get By.” The second season starts this Sunday at 9pm EST/PST on Showtime. Watch.

Emmy’s “Perfect For” Picks

Coffee & A Light Bite

Sant Ambroeus (1000 Madison Ave.) – “I love it for coffee and a pastry. It’s very chic. Sure, you’ll spend $25 and still be hungry, but it’s all part of the experience. It’s very European and they make the best coffee in my humble opinion. I know, I’m so not downtown cool!”

People Watching

Catch (21 9th Ave.) – “Love Catch. It’s absolutely nuts and insane. There is so much good people watching to do, and the food is fantastic. I had a lobster the size of my face. It was massive, but so tasty. Also, I’m obsessed with Top Chef, so just to be close to that was awesome for me (Top Chef Season 3 winner Hung Huynh is the chef).”

Girls’ Night Out & Cheap Eats

Please Don’t Tell (PDT) (113 St. Marks Place) – “OBSESSED. I feel all 007 walking through the phone booth, through the time capsule, and into a speakeasy. And then if you get really drunk you can have a hot dog on the way out. Did I say I was obsessed with this place? Love it.”

Dinner with the Parents

Park Avenue (100 E 63rd St.) – “Since my parents live on the UES, logistically this always works out nicely. It’s always fresh, I like that they change the menu all the time. The theme is fun too. Also, it’s a great environment to introduce a new significant other because it’s civilized and classy.”

Quality Fish

Sushi Yasuda (204 E 43rd St.) – “That’s the bomb sushi. Just get the Omakase, because the chef knows what’s up.”
