Kelly has been a fixture in the New York dining scene for a while now thanks to her successful NYC TV show Eat Out NY. It was only recently that she broke through on a national level, as the host of the always entertaining Top Chef Masters. Kelly likes to have a good time on Twitter – definitely follow her if you’re not already, and keep your eyes peeled around town. There’s a good chance she’s laughing, drinking a glass of wine and taking down a full a chicken in the booth next to you.
Kelly’s “Perfect For” Picks
Dining Solo
Chelsea Market (75 9th Ave.) – “I love this place! Every time I go, I fantasize about living across the street in one of the gorgeous loft spaces, rolling out of bed on a weekend morning, going to 9th Street Espresso for my morning buzz, picking up some baked goods at Amy’s Bread, a bottle of vino at Chelsea Wine Vault for my dinner party later that night, then munching on samples from Fatwich Brownie, and buying everything from The Lobster Place! You guys who live and work nearby, I am so envious!”
Action At The Bar
Japas 27 (366 3rd Ave.) – “Ok, not your typical ‘bar’, but it’s definitely the kind of bar that interests me. Sitting at the back sushi bar area while yummy, messy fusion rolls are carouseling by is delicious ridiculousness! Solo is fun, but bring a friend to take advantage of free karaoke upstairs after your meal.”
Classic NYC Establishment
Balthazar (80 Spring St.) – “I love meeting a friend at the bar during happy hour, having a glass of wine, slurping some bivalves, then ordering their steak tartare and cracking open a few of their hard-boiled eggs, mixing & eating the two together….ahhhh, I love steak tartare and I always end up meeting and talking to new and interesting New Yorkers here, it’s a scene.”
Special Occasions
Jean-Georges (1 Central Park West) – “It’s my favorite fine-dining spot, period. Service is tops, the food is fantastic (anything foie gras on the menu is a must), and I love looking and walking by their open kitchen, it always mesmerizes me.”
Good Vibes
Il Buco (21 E. 12th St.) – “I love the way the resto is decorated like the old country, the service is attentive and charming, the food is delicious. It always makes me wanna move to Europe!.”
