Eleven Madison Park
11 Madison Ave., Gramercy, NY 10010Fancy though it may be, Eleven Madison Park is surprisingly lively, and the room wide open and airy – definitely not typical of a place serving this kind of food. But make no mistake, this is fine dining at its most serious.

L’Artusi
228 W 10th St., West Village, NY 10014L’Artusi can officially go on our list of favorite restaurants in this town. A Voce
41 Madison Ave., Gramercy, NY 10010A Voce is definitely Italian fine dining, it will definitely hit you hard in the wallet, and it’s definitely full of suits from the New York Life building next door, but no matter – the food coming out of this kitchen is amazing.

Perla
24 Minetta Ln., Greenwich Village, NY 10012All too often, we find ourselves playing the role of hype-squashers, injecting some much needed reality into a situation when people are falling over themselves because a celebrity chef just opened a restaurant with a master pizzaiolo and an indoor water slide. Bar Boulud
1900 Broadway #2, Upper West Side, NY 10023Bar Boulud is Daniel Boulud’s “casual bistro”, but by Infatuation standards this is a fancy restaurant. It’s an older crowd, but a seemingly loose one as the restaurant feels upbeat and lively. As for the food, you’ll find a long list of pates and terrines, but otherwise, it’s a pretty straightforward bistro.

Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria
53 Great Jones St., NoHo, NY 10012We love it when people get up in arms over a restaurant review. “How dare the New York Times give a Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria three stars? It’s a sandwich shop! Who do they think they are? That’s how many Adour by Alain Ducasse has!” Those aren’t real quotes, but that’s the “people who [...]

Maialino
2 Lexington Ave., Gramercy, NY 10010About a year and a half ago, we wrote up a less than glowing review of Danny Meyer’s then brand new Roman trattoria, Maialino. We had high expectations due to Meyer’s flawless record, but flaws were found, and verdict was levied accordingly. Steinthal actually compared the place to every great band’s worst album. Ouch. But [...]
