Scarpetta
355 W. 14th St., Chelsea, NYA fantastic and trendy Italian spot, so far untainted by the Meatpacking District sprawl.

Shake Shack Times Square
693 8th Ave., Midtown, NY“Selling out” will always be a hotly debated topic. Growing up, my friends and I would spend hours arguing about whether or not our favorite bands were sellouts. Green Day, Rancid, Bad Religion, all bands that were supposed to be so punk, yet signed on with a major label at one point in their careers. [...]

The Fat Radish
17 Orchard St., Chinatown, NYIt’s pretty amazing when you think about it. We actually walked by The Fat Radish a few weeks ago. That’s how we found out about it. Why is that amazing? Because this new restaurant is on Orchard Street, just north of Canal – a dark, cold, sketchy looking block on the fringe of Chinatown that [...]

Mercat
45 Bond St., NoHo, NYYou won’t catch the Infatuation hanging out here on a regular basis, but every once in a while it’s fun to kick back, drink in hand, and watch the ridiculous action unfold around you. Their selection of exclusively Spanish wines is just as attractive as the pretty people drinking them and – shocker special – the food is good too.

La Esquina Cafe & Taqueria
114 Kenmare St., Nolita, NYThis moment has been a long time coming. All three La Esquinas (cafe, taqueria and brasserie) have been in our heavy rotation since the days when the bridge and tunnel crowd rocked Von Dutch instead of Ed Hardy. It’s about time we got around to actually writing about them. This review is specifically for the [...]

Catch
21 9th Ave, Meatpacking District, NYYou already know that we stay away from Meatpacking restaurant-club hybrids. Our idea of a good time does not include rubbing elbows with D-list celebs at Spice Market. Nor does it involve poppin’ bottles at Provocateur. But somehow, we ended up at Catch the other night, the new three story fish-topia opened by the Abe [...]

Lombardi’s
32 Spring St., Nolita, NYThe self-proclaimed “first pizzeria in America,” Lombardi’s has long been at the top of the list for tourists looking for a taste of real New York City pizza. Rightfully so, as this Neapolitan style coal oven pizza is top-rate. Unfortunately, to get a taste you’ll have to wait in line behind the gaggles of people being dropped off by the double-decker bus load.

Vandaag
103 2nd Ave., East Village, NYDutch food? Not necessarily something we’re well versed in. The closest we’ve ever come to going down this road in NYC resulted in bed bugs scare at White Slab Palace and that was Scandinavian food, not Dutch. Close enough. You can’t help but look up and down this ultra slick, uber-modern European cafe and wonder, [...]

Pylos
128 E. 7th St., East Village, NYA great Greek restaurant with communal seating and a cozy vibe. Pylos got the seal of approval from our Greek friend, who’s a real snob when it comes to food from the homeland.

Del Posto
85 10th Ave., Chelsea, NYMario Batali restaurants have a reputation of being tourist traps and magnets for the bridge and tunnel crowd. There’s always a lot of action, and you never know what kind of spectacle might unfold on any given night. Example? How about when Sinbad rolled in during one of our visits with a crew of five [...]
