Restaurants Perfect For Suits

our suggestions

  1. Marea

240 Central Park S, Columbus Circle, NY 10019

Marea definitely needs some good Infatuation press…they haven’t gotten much love lately. Makes you wonder if people around these parts have even heard of it. I mean, it’s only been awarded Best New Restaurant in America by the James Beard Foundation. While we haven’t yet logged enough hours on the road to make that kind […]

  2. Betony

    41 W. 57th St., Midtown, NY 10019

God, we’re getting fancy. Not long ago we would have prefaced this review with a “you know, we don’t typically eat like this” disclaimer, followed by some remark about how Momofuku is awesome or something. These days, I’m not sure we can get away with that. Too many tweets from Daniel, and let’s just all […]

  3. A Voce

    A Voce

41 Madison Ave., Gramercy, NY 10010

A Voce is definitely Italian fine dining, it will definitely hit you hard in the wallet, and it’s definitely full of suits from the New York Life building next door, but no matter – the food coming out of this kitchen is amazing.

  4. Bar Boulud

    Bar Boulud

1900 Broadway #2, Upper West Side, NY 10023

Bar Boulud is Daniel Boulud’s “casual bistro”, but by Infatuation standards this is a fancy restaurant. It’s an older crowd, but a seemingly loose one as the restaurant feels upbeat and lively. As for the food, you’ll find a long list of pates and terrines, but otherwise, it’s a pretty straightforward bistro.

  5. Per Se

    Per Se

10 Columbus Cir., Midtown West, NY 10019

I got kicked out of Per Se. Allow me to elaborate. Back in September, I had a 5:30pm reservation for four on a Saturday night. One member of our group was coming in that day from outside of the country, and her flight ended up getting severely delayed. This presented us with an interesting dilemma […]

  6. Keens

    Keens Steakhouse

    72 W. 36th Street, Midtown, NY 10018

Keens is as Old New York as you can get. Open since 1885, this place is loaded with history. It’s pretty much the Museum of Natural Meat Eating History.

  7. aburiyakinnosuke

    Aburiya Kinnosuke

213 East 45th St., Midtown East, NY 10017

From what we’re told, this is an authentic Japanese establishment, all the way down to the robata grill. We can’t vouch for its authenticity, nor are we sure that a robata grill isn’t something from the Sky Mall catalog, but we do happen to agree that this place is damn good.

  8. Quality Italian

    Quality Italian

    57 W. 57th St., Midtown, NY 10019

From the team that brought you Quality Meats, welcome to Quality Italian, or as we like to call it – Midtown’s Carbone. Now, there are probably at least a few of you out there that scoff at the suggestion that a restaurant anywhere near Midtown could be compared to a fixture of the downtown “scene” […]

  9. Krieger

    321 E. 73rd St., Upper East Side, NY 10021

If there’s such a thing as “fine dining for dudes”, we’ve just discovered it. Welcome to Hospoda, an upscale Czech restaurant that’s just as much a beer hall as it is a culinary destination. There aren’t many places in this city where a guy can order a light beer with his three course meal and […]

  10. Ward3

    Ward III

111 Reade St., Tribeca, NY 10013

This one’s been a long time coming. For a solid two years now, Ward III has been our favorite drinking establishment in Manhattan. Sure, there are a plethora of excellent sophisticated watering holes we love, but none more accessible and user friendly than Ward III. We’re always down for a Michael Neff (Co-Owner, Mixologist) conceived […]
