Parm
248 Mulberry St., Nolita, NYWe already know that the fellas behind Torrisi run our kind of restaurant and serve our kind of food, so it’s not big surprise that we love Parm, their new Italian sandwich shop. Simple Italian food is a lost art in NYC. You might find chicken parmesan, baked ziti and mozzarella sticks at your sh*tty [...]

La Esquina Brasserie
114 Kenmare St., Nolita, NYIf you read our review of the cafe and taqueria, you know that we’re fans of the food at La Esquina. It’s easy to like fresh Mexican favorites in a casual environment. But what happens when you put a guy with a clipboard and some very dangerous stairs in between us and dinner? In most [...]

Public
210 Elizabeth St., Nolita, NYPublic is one of those joints that’s always there for you in a pinch. Centrally located and universally appealing, Public is to Nolita what The Smith is to the East Village, just with an older, more sophisticated crowd and higher price point. It’s not the hot spot it once was, but what restaurant almost ten [...]

Sorella
95 Allen St., Lower East Side, NYA sleek, modern wine bar with excellent food and great taste in music. The downside? It get’s crowded, the layout is strange and it’s pricey. Nonetheless, Sorella is worth a visit.

Mercat
45 Bond St., NoHo, NYYou won’t catch the Infatuation hanging out here on a regular basis, but every once in a while it’s fun to kick back, drink in hand, and watch the ridiculous action unfold around you. Their selection of exclusively Spanish wines is just as attractive as the pretty people drinking them and – shocker special – the food is good too.

The Smile
26 Bond St., NoHo, NYA relatively new “cafe and mixed use concept store” on Bond St. What does that mean? Well, it’s a rustic space that serves food and also sells housewares and nick-nacks to the coolest people you have ever seen. Essentially, it’s hipster Cracker Barrel.

La Esquina Cafe & Taqueria
114 Kenmare St., Nolita, NYThis moment has been a long time coming. All three La Esquinas (cafe, taqueria and brasserie) have been in our heavy rotation since the days when the bridge and tunnel crowd rocked Von Dutch instead of Ed Hardy. It’s about time we got around to actually writing about them. This review is specifically for the [...]

Hung-Ry
55 Bond St., NoHo, NYJapanese noodles have created absolute pandemonium in this city. Seats at Momofuku Noodle and Ippudo induce Odd Future style riots on a nightly basis. It was only a matter of time before someone took this same approach to those of the Chinese variety. It worked in Sydney, another Asian food obsessed city. Anyone who’s been [...]

Lombardi’s
32 Spring St., Nolita, NYThe self-proclaimed “first pizzeria in America,” Lombardi’s has long been at the top of the list for tourists looking for a taste of real New York City pizza. Rightfully so, as this Neapolitan style coal oven pizza is top-rate. Unfortunately, to get a taste you’ll have to wait in line behind the gaggles of people being dropped off by the double-decker bus load.
